Davy Jones ~ Forever a Monkee

Yes, that title is cheesy, but I do have the need to express my condolences for the loss of Davy Jones, teenage heart throb of the Monkee, British and short variety.

Davy died today of a massive heart attack at the age of 66.

I was shocked to see the headlines when I was checking MSN.com during my lunch break at work. I will admit to blinking back tears and immediately making a Monkees Pandora station in Davy's honor.

Like a lot of girls, I had my Monkee lust stage during junior high. I did miss the original boat, being that I was born in 1983, but the endearing qualities the Monkees exude are timeless.

Yes, I'll admit I was a Micky girl; Davy was too short for my taste. But I was still impressed by his smooth smile and crooning abilities.

He made me laugh in the Monkees TV show, and I spent hours singing along to him and the rest of the guys. I even begged my mom to order Monkees trading cards from Rhino, which I still have.

Anyway, if you're a fan of the Monkees, Davy Jones or even the era (I have a feeling you must at least be a fan of the era if you're on my blog), please enjoy the videos below.

Thank you, Davy, for the laughs and the music.
